Raised by Master Shifu after being found as a cub, Tai Lung was groomed to become the Dragon Warrior. He mastered every known style of kung fu during his training years, believing he was destined for greatness. However, when Master Oogway denied him the Dragon Scroll on the day of his graduation—overruling Shifu's intention to bestow it upon him—Tai Lung felt betrayed and attacked the Jade Palace before fleeing into exile. He spent many years imprisoned in a high-security facility designed to hold the most dangerous criminals in China. Eventually, he escaped using stealth and manipulation, returning with a singular goal: to claim the scroll by force. His return brought chaos to the Valley of Peace as he dismantled the palace guards and challenged Shifu directly. His journey ends at the peak of the Jade Palace during his final duel. Despite his overwhelming skill and rage, he is outmaneuvered by Po, the panda who had been chosen in his place. In the aftermath of their battle, Tai Lung falls from a great height into the abyss below, leaving him presumed lost forever.
